The way things are, if you don't have an agent you just ain't. SF (like Romance) is lucky in that a few major publishers will still sort slush, but by and large writers without agents are as welcome as hotel guests without luggage or credit cards.

In a solemn tribute to all the newbies who wail for agency on the writer sites of the world, here are some places to start scraping the bottom of the barrel for somebody who will give you the time of day.
