Antennae - and it would all depend. Since it is a story many people are very familiar with, it would have to really blow me over (story and prose). However, I could possibly see a great story about Jonah from the islanders' POV.

Go to the nearest bookstore and look for fiction set in biblical times. See who the publishers are. Those are more likely to be the publishers who might be interested.

This goes for any type of book. See who publishes books like the one you want to sell by finding similar books in the bookstore.

Sorry Collin, I glanced at your question about an historical fiction novel about Daniel, and I spouted off about whether I thought it was publishable. I apologize.

I think this would depend on your target audience. I believe that LDS have their own publishing firms. Whereas protestants and Catholics have their own publishing firms. I am sure a Google search would send you in the appropriate direction.
