New Scientist Magazine is running a super-short (350 words or less) flash fiction contest. Sounds interesting... IP: Logged |

hey thanks for sharing the link! I looked at it, and interestingly enough the stories need to be set 100 years in the future and features Kim Stanley Robinson. I am reading his book red mars right now! (a near future story about the colonization of mars, something I wanted to write about myself). Maybe I will give this a try, only how to tell a decent story in only 350 words?? IP: Logged |

The deadline is not that far away, the payment is only a publication credit, and they keep the rights to it forever. Still, the magazine publication maybe worth putting in a resume. Maybe a group for this contest may be in order. What do you think? Anyone interested in trading scripts? [This message has been edited by snapper (edited September 25, 2009).] IP: Logged |

Hey Snapper, I'm planning on submitting for this contest just for the challenge, it forced me to try to write something coherent in 350 words or less I have a rough draft completed now, I'd be willing to trade scripts with you, even if no one else does... anyone else interested? Would be great to get a hatrack member as a winner! IP: Logged |
