Sometimes I'm such a dope. I don't know why, but I never thought about our esteemes Kathleen possibly being a published author. Once I was aware of this fact, I looked up her books at my favorite used bookstore. I'm now in the process of reading her first published work called THE IMPERIUM GAME. I haven't gotten far in it yet, but it's about a computer generated game where people participate in it in the physical sense. Some have been playing in this game for years. In a nutshell, one of the most important players is murdered and one of the game's managers is accused of it. I'm to the point where this has happened. I guess I should add that the game is based on ancient Rome, and the old Roman gods are programmed into it to take part.

So, Kathleen; would you like to comment on your first published work? I know I'd be very interested in what you might have to say about it. What do you say?

Wrong KDW, Crystal.

The author of THE IMPERIUM GAME is K.D. Wentworth who is the first judge of the Writers of the Future contest. We call each other our twins, but she has blue eyes and I have brown eyes, so we're not exactly identical.

For her sake, I hope you enjoy the book. It's a fun read.

I am a published author, though. I've had six short stories published professionally (at least, they qualify me for full membership in the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America), but no novels so far.

I was pretty sure, but with a certain doubt, which kept me from posting a funny comment yesterday...

Oh for Pete's sake! Let me scrub the egg off my face. I guess it would help if I looked at names more closely. Thank you for straightening me out.

No one's throwing eggs--they're much better cooked, in my opinion.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness and support, Crystal, even if it really didn't apply in this case. Your heart is certainly in the right place, and I'm very glad you're on this forum.
