Does anyone happen to know a good history of Rome? I've been in the mood to read something about the Roman Empire (founding to fall) over the past few days but don't know if there is a really good title out there worth reading.

If only Bruce Catton wrote about Rome... *wistful sigh*

Here's one I enjoyed recently: The Ruin of the Roman Empire: A New History, by James J. O'Donnell. It covers the end of the Empire and not the beginning, but does spill a lot of interesting dirt on the so-called Fall.
