Howdy everyone,

Before you ask, that's pretty much all the Japanese I know. I've lived here for three years and I pretty much know only "Good afternoon" and domo arigato which means "thank you very much."

Anyway, I digress.

My name's Joseph Forrest. I'm 29 years old and I've been a member of the US Air Force since 2001. I'm married and have four kids. I've been writing or trying to be creative in some way since I was a little kid. I've never had anything published and as I reach 30 years old I've decided that I need to do something I really love doing.

I hope you guys and gals here can help me that and I hope I can help you guys in return.

-Joe

Another serviceman. Glad to have you with us, but I just want to say right up front what an honor it is to have you and your fellow servicemen and women protecting our freedoms and way of life here in the good ole USA. I tip my hat to you, sir.

So just step inside our magical treehouse and get to know everyone. Care to join some of us in the hot tub out here on the deck? I just ordered some snacks and drinks from our fridge in the kitchen. See, they just appeared there at the edge of the tub only seconds ago.

Welcome to Hatrack .

I am literally heading out the door to deploy for a few months (Navy subs) and saw your post. I am glad to see you and look forward to reading your material when I return. I have been in since 1997 and also have four kids.

Well, aspirit, I live in Japan but I was born and raised in Tennessee. Howdy just comes with the territory.

GAH! GAH I say! Everybody gets to go to Japan but me!

Interestingly, the one story I've sold so far has a Japanese title (Kitsune-tsuki, which means the state of being possessed by a fox.)

Anyway...Greetings! Have some pocky!

I didn't want to start a new topic stating I'm back so I hope it's okay that I resurrected this one. I just wanted to say hello again and get reacquainted with everyone. Now that work and school is calming down for me I can get back to writing what I really want to write.

BTW, I did take a creative writing class and while it wasn't what I expected, it did force me to write just about every day. So it was a really good experience.

Also, I just got done reading "The Eternal Prison" by Jeff Somers. Excellent read and I recommend it to anyone who digs cyberpunk type stories.
