Booksignings over the mail used to be the best way, but since OSC's amount of fans have grown, he no longer can do that. You can buy bookplates at cost for 99 cents at the Hatrack Store I believe.

I'm sure you can find one on e-bay or amazon auctions, but what's your hurry? Why two weeks? Why not seek out the occasional book signing instead? When the new book comes out in November, I reckon there's a pretty good chance he'll travel to promote it.

I do value my autographed books, but honestly, their value to me is more as a memento of actually having met him. I wouldn't be nearly as interested in getting signatures that someone else had acquired. What are they proof of? Somebody somewhat famous touched this book. Big honking deal.

No, if it's in the summer it'll be in Colorado, or Utah again, that was pretty close. Any other time (besides Christmas) and it'll be in Indiana. Isn't it obvious? [Razz] [Big Grin]

Endercon 2 is only a dream of mine (and of course everyone else who went to Endercon 1... [Big Grin] [Cool] ). As far as I know there are absolutly no plans from the authorities (by which I mean OSC and Kristine Card [Cool] ) for a second Endercon.

In short, yes. It was the 25th anniversary of the publication of the original Ender's Game short story. Many activities were planned such as a trivia contest, a reading of a new short story by Card himself, lectures on technology of EG, a round-robin reading of EG, etc. Having attended, I must say it was absolutely amazing.

I have my fingers crossed more for an AlvinCon then an Endercon II though. [Big Grin]

If another convention ever happens though, it will most likely be a long time before it happens. It was a LOT of work for the Cards to put it together.

I'm just happy I got to go to the first one. [Wink]
