Two good science fiction writers are talking about doing a fantasy series. Richard Morgan, the author of Altered Carbon and Market Places (which Warner Bros. is gonna make a movie of)is doing a "sword-and-sorcery-noir" series called "Land fit for Heroes". While Card is gonna also be taking the fantasy route as well it seems. I've never been one for fantasy novels but with the way these two write (two drastically different styles) I'm sure gonna give 'em a taste. I hope to see more details soon coming the public's way from both ends.

I enjoyed "Altered Carbon" on one level, on the other, I found it terribly written and so hackneyed that at time I laughed out loud. It went for B-Movie level violence and weird "abra-cadabra!" solutions at points..

Also, I have never heard an author use the word "Maelstrom" as much as Morgan. Yeesh.

I may see what Morgan comes up with, but as impressed as everyone else was with Altered Carbon, I found it fairly 'pulpy' in comparison to creatively written (and seriously, Altered Carbon may be the most anti-religion novel I have ever read in my life)

In fact, he's written fantasy more often than he's written science fiction, by my rough count. Novels, anyway.

I'm not crazy enough to try to classify and count all the stories.
