I assumed that wasn't sarcasm. I thought she was serious. In my opinion, those are all EXCELLENT movies. Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indy all rank in my top 5 favorite movies. The others fit in with my top 15.

I liked it, I mean, what else do you expect from Spielberg? He's Sci-Fi guy (him and Lucas that is). It wasn't the world's greatest ending, but is was satisfying IMHO.

And you are certainly entitled to that opinion. I felt like Spielberg took what was intended to be an in depth exploration into what it is that makes us humans and not machines (and possibly to blur that line a little), and turned it into a sappy fairy tail about a boy that lost his mother and the aliens that saved him. Admittedly, it did retain a certain aspect of what I imagine Kubrick intended, but I do not think it did the vision justice.

I wish they can clone Mr. Kubrick, he made great movies in every genre.
I vote for Miyazaki, I think he has the sensivility to understand the story and make a great movie (though maybe Alvin's books + Miyazaky would be a better match). He can do accion, and Sci-fi...Have you seen ALL his movies?
I've read "Howl's moving castle" and I've seen the film, and the film is better! How many times do you say that about a film?
I wouldn't dislike an anime version for the whole Ender saga (or Alvin, or Homecoming...). With the makers of the anime "Monster". But that wouldn't be a World wide-big screen success.
