Hi,

Years ago (probably in the 90s) I read an anthology edited by OSC that contained a science fiction poem (yes, really). In it, an alien visits earth, but no one recognizes the alien as being alien because its shape looks so much like a chicken, and the alien is reduced to observing life from the POV of a chicken. Sound familiar to anyone? I'm pretty sure it was from an OSC anthology because I think I remember reading his introduction to the story/poem. Hoping this rings a bell for someone--I'm really trying hard to find that poem. Thanks!

It's called "The Neighbor's Wife" and it's by Susan Palwick. Your memory has done interesting things to it.

I haven't read that poem, but your description of it reminded me of Card's short story where aliens think dogs are the dominant species so they all jump into dog bodies. Then they're stuck.
