They got the pig locked up in the pen

Ten bucks a week protection don't mean I can't knock you down
You've got to treat me like a living saint Lou, whenever my son's around."

Fear in me so deep it gets the best of me
In the fear I fall, here it comes face to face with me
Here I stand hold back so no one can see
I feel these wounds, step down, step down,
step down.

Tell me how does it feel
When it comes to you and all the the things you say, to me
You make me feel like nothing
(like nothing)
When you bring me down
I fall apart and wrestle with myself, inside
I'm nothin'

I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the STREETS have no name

I want to feel sunlight on my face

I see the dust cloud disappear
Without a trace
I want to take shelter from the poison rain
Where the streets have no name

It's good to know that you are home for Christmas
It's good to know that you are doing well
It's good to know that you all know I'm hurting
It's good to know I'm feeling not so well
Because my inside is outside
My right side's on the left side
Cause I'm writing to reach you now but
I might never reach you
Only want to teach you
About you

It's Christmas time again
It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year
I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer
You people scare me
Please stay away from home
If you don't wanna get me down
Just leave the presents and let me be alone.

The winter here's cold and bitter
It's chilled us to the bone
We haven't seen the sun for weeks
Too long, too far from home
I feel just like I'm sinking
And I claw for solid ground
I'm pulled down by the undertow
I never thought I could feel so low
Oh darkness I feel like letting go

Grace, she takes the blame.
She covers the shame.
Removes the stain.
It could be her name.

Grace,it's a name for a girl.
It's also a thought that could change the world.
When she walks on the street you can hear the strings.
Grace finds goodness in everything.

Hey! Doesn't anybody else play this game anymore?!?

"Saw your first ship sink and drown
from rocking of the boat
and all that could not sink or swim
was just left there to float
I won't leave you drifting down
but woah it makes me wild
with thirty years upon my head
to have you call me child."

He ran to the candle but the light had done died

Said I only love you knowing I'll die

I see the blood all over your hands
Does it make you feel more like a man?
Was this all just a part of your plan?
The pistol's shaking in my hand, and all I hear is the sound

I love you
I hate you
I can't get around you
I breathe you
I taste you
I can't live without you
I just can't take anymore
This life of solitude
I guess that I'm out the door
And now I'm done with you.

The scaffold was high, eternity near,
She stood in the crowd and shed not a tear.
But sometimes at night when the cold wind moans.
In a long black veil, she cries o'er my bones.

Now she walks these hills in a long black veil.
She visits my grave when the night winds wail.
Nobody knows; nobody sees;
Nobody knows but me.

This deformed society is part of the design.
It'll never go away (it's in the cards that way).
The masses of humanity have always, always had to suffer!
A door leading to the gift of hope renewed, eternity for you.
The masses of humanity, still clinging to their dignity,
The masses of humanity will always have to suffer.
Always have to suffer.

Now I look for her always
I'm lost in this calling
I'm tied to the threads of some prayer
Saying, When will she summon me
When will she come to me
What must I do to prepare
When she bends to my longing
Like a willow, like a fountain
She stands in the luminous air
And the night comes on
And it's very calm
I lie in her arms and she says, When I'm gone
I'll be yours, yours for a song

The Night Comes On

Hold back the dawn
Hold back the dawn
Won't you raise up your hand
And hold back the dawn

I dreamt if I could lay you upon this bed of straw
We may break the rules but we don't break the law
Come across but the river's too wide
Come across but the river's too high
Over by the fountain where we meet
I will lay silver roses at your feet

Hold back the dawn
Hold back the dawn
Won't you raise up your hand
And hold back the dawn

In the morning when I rise, when I’m opening my eyes
Yesterday stands in the doorway daring me to dream again
Was there pause to smell the rain, did compassion reach the pain?
Did I offer all I could, did I look to the common good?

Arise, the sun proclaims the day
The wind sets you free, sets you off in a new way
Arise, you’ll lift up upon new wings
And with the breath of dawn you will have life to sing.

Dakota Road – Arise

(ahhhh, it's a fidelity to the album kinda thing ... mmmm, here we go with my latest love ...)

Now Suzanne takes your hand
And she leads you to the river
She is wearing rags and feathers
From Salvation Army counters
And the sun pours down like honey
On our lady of the harbour
And she shows you where to look
Among the garbage and the flowers
There are heroes in the seaweed
There are children in the morning
They are leaning out for love
And they will lean that way forever
While Suzanne holds the mirror
And you want to travel with her
And you want to travel blind
And you know that you can trust her
For she's touched your perfect body with her mind.

And a place where you belong
Take your shoes off, risk the moment
There’s no time to fret
‘cause the world needs you to get wet

Get into the river with me
Feel the spirit flowing free
Below the surface
You’ll find your purpose
Get into the river you’ll see

Even though she sleeps upon your satin;
Even though she wakes you with a kiss.
Do not say the moment was imagined;
Do not stoop to strategies like this.

As someone long prepared for this to happen,
Go firmly to the window. Drink it in.
Exquisite music. Alexandra laughing.
Your firm commitments tangible again.

And you who had the honor of her evening,
And by the honor had your own restored –
Say goodbye to Alexandra leaving;
Alexandra leaving with her lord.

I'm guided by a signal in the heavens
I'm guided by this birthmark on my skin
I'm guided by the beauty of our weapons
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

I'd really like to live beside you, baby
I love your body and your spirit and your clothes
But you see that line there moving through the station?
I told you, I told you, told you, I was one of those

Ah you loved me as a loser, but now you're worried that I just might win
You know the way to stop me, but you don't have the discipline
How many nights I prayed for this, to let my work begin
First we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin

First We Take Manhatten

Will you not agree
There’s beauty in each person
But do we really see
There’s no justice in the slaughter of the innocent
but bombs burst angrily
and it’s criminality
is it worth the price of a child’s life
to make us free

A new way we must find
To free our world of violence
We’ll start with hearts and minds
and then convert 300 billion dollar guns
if not I must remind
there’s truth in Gandhi’s line
an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind

I saw you this morning.
You were moving so fast.
Can't seem to loosen my grip
On the past.
And I miss you so much.
There's no one in sight.
And we're still making love
In My Secret Life.

I smile when I'm angry.
I cheat and I lie.
I do what I have to do
To get by.
But I know what is wrong.
And I know what is right.
And I'd die for the truth
In My Secret Life.

I heard the news that you were soon to be
a part of this world, in my life
a new light rising over the crashing waves
the dreams, the light grew bright
when I saw your eyes

In our fears God gives them angel’s eyes
for a world just they can see
there is joy in life though angel’s eyes

Now a desperate world reaches out to me
I can feel the hunger
what to believe, what do I stand for
but all you see are the birds in the sky
the trees and their colors
the gentle peace of God made clear
through the eyes of a child

You say I took the name in vain
I don't even know the name
But if I did, well really, what's it to you?
There's a blaze of light
In every word
It doesn't matter which you heard
The holy or the broken Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though
It all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah

Hallelujah

i get home from work and you're still standing in your dressing
gown
well what am i to do?
i know all the things around your head and what they do to
you.
what are we coming to?
what are we gonna do?
blame it on the black star
blame it on the falling sky
blame it on the satellite that beams me home.
the troubled words of a troubled mind i try to understand
what is eating you.
i try to stay awake but its 58hrs since that i last slept with
you.
what are we coming to?
i just don't know anymore.

i get on the train and I just stand about now that i don't think
of you.
i keep falling over i keep passing out
when i see a face like you.
what am i coming to?
im gonna melt down.

She's running home from the bruises and the beaches
with her little girl in hand, she's picking up the pieces
she left behind the bright lights and the hassle
spent three days on this bus heading for her childhood castle

She's looking for a rock in the middle of life's ocean
a place inside her memory
that's safe and warm and holds no harm
that's where she wants to be

There's a place I dream about
Where the sun never goes out
And the sky is deep and blue
Won't you take me there with you

Oh, we can begin again
Shed our skin, let the sun shine in
At the edge of the ocean
We can start over again

Every now and the I need to take a little break
shed my daily skin, take note of what I've left
Grab the wheel and turn it over

Cutting through the heat and the haze hanging low
I pass a woman on the street, a women in vagabond clothes
I was hoping I wouldn't see you here in this passing land
so many miles to go I got to leave you where you stand
