Looking for a sound that's going to drown out the world
(Been around the back...been around the front)
Looking for the father of my two little girls
(Been around the back...been around the front)
Got the swing got the sway got my straw in lemonade
(Been around the back...been around the front)
Still looking for the face I had before the world was made
(Been around the back...been around the front)

Mother...mother sucking rock and roll (Mother...)
Bubble popping sugar dropping rock and roll (Mother...)

Baby please
Baby don't say no
Won't you dance for me
Under the cherry tree
Won't you swing down low

Please
Baby please say yes
Baby don't go away
You're spilling me
And your precious love

Born in the night
She would run like a leopard
That freaks at the sight
Of a mind close beside herself
And the nearer I came
How the country would change
She was using the landscape
To hide herself.

More in the mind
Than the body this feeling
A sense at the end
Of a circular line
That is drawn at an angle
I see when I'm with you
To navigate waters and finally answer to- yes .

If you could see all the roads I have traveled
Towards some unusable last equilibrium
Run like an athlete and die like a dead beaten speed-freak
An answer to all of your answers to- yes

-Yes, "Tempis Fugit"

In the day we sweat it out in the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected
and steppin' out over the line
Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were BORN to run

I guess this is our last goodbye
And you don't care, so I won't cry
And you'll be sorry when I'm dead
And all this guilt will be on your head

I guess you call it suicide
But I'm too full to swallow my pride

Last night I was walking through the harbour
Where the fishing boats are lying on the shore,
The news had travelled fast and everyone went to be
Where the mayor was making a speech,
And the crowd started cheering
When he talked about the glory of it all,
And the boys coming home from the war.

Last night, they were dancing in the streets
And making music in the alleyways and bars,
From a house down in the old town came the sound of guitars,
Margarita was waiting inside,
With her long black hair hanging down beneath the red light,
And she smiled, for the boys coming home from the war,
The boys coming home from the war.

And they said we were heroes, they said we were fine,
We were kings in command, we had God on our side,
And we said that nothing will make us change in any way,
Since yesterday, we're just the same
Since yesterday, nothing has changed
Since yesterday, we're just the same
But I can feel there's this new kind of hunger inside,
To be satisfied, I saw it there last night

And you don't seem the liying KIND
A shame then I can read your mind,
And all the things that I read there
Candle lit smile that we both share

I am falling I am fading I am drowning
Help me to breathe
I am falling, I have lost it all, I am drowning
Help me to breathe

We'll find a way to face a new tomorrow

It was meant to be a holiday
Building castles by the sea
Another way to live for you and me
Time to pause, consider what we've done
The wind is blowing, so come, let's take a holiday.

Sail on, Sail on across the sea
Ride the waves, feel the breeze
Sail on , there's no other way I'd rather be.

And it all crashes down
And you break your crown
And you point your finger
But there's no one around

Just want one thing
Just to play the king
But the CASTLE crumbled
And you've left with just a name

Where's your crown?
King nothing.

Come DOWN
and waste away with me
DOWN with me....
Tonight I throw myself intooooo....
And out of the red,
Out of her head
she sang

And I wonder
If I sing along with you
If everything will ever feel this real forever
If everything will ever be this good again....

Moon river, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day...

Old dreammaker, you heart-breaker,
Wherever you're going, I'm going your way...

Two drifters, off to see the world,
There's such a lot of world to see...

We're after the same rainbow's end,
Waitin' round the bend,
My huckleberry friend...

Moon river and me

Baby's black balloon makes her fly
I almost fell into that hole in your life
And you're not thinking about tomorrow
'Cause you were the same as me
But on your knees

A thousand other boys could never reach you
How could I have been the one
I saw the world spin beneath you
And scatter like ice from the spoon
That was your womb--

I get a feelin', lost without you baby,
livin' alone is drivin' me crazy.
Don't you know, I've got nowhere to go?
You should be the one that's hurtin',
you got everything you need.

Back in the days when love was so easy.
I was fancy free and laughin' with no reason.
Things have changed,
your touch has grown strange.
I can't help myself I know that,
you have left me dyin' here.

makes me live through all my pain

we will be a part

a union of the heart

Hello,
Is there anybody in there
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home
come on now,
I hear you're feeling down
I can ease your PAIN
And get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no PAIN you are receding
a distant ship smoke on the horizon

Home is where I want to be
But I guess I'm already there
I come home, she lifted up her wings
I guess that this must be the place

I can't tell one from another
Did I find you or you find me?
There was a time before we were born
If someone asks this is where I'll be

Oh, we drift in and out
Oh, sing into my mouth
Out of all those kinds of people
You've got a place with a view
I'm just an animal looking for a home and
Share the same space for a minute or two
And you love me 'til my heart stops
Love me 'til I'm dead
Eyes that light up, eyes look through you
Cover up the blank spots, hit me on the head...

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Nobody came

No one was saved

I went to a funeral
Lord it made me happy
Seeing all those people
I ain't seen
Since the last time
Somebody died

Everybody talking
They were telling funny stories
Saying all those things
They ain't said
Since the last time
Somebody died

...

Now it's church on Sunday
It's a bar on Friday night
It's work on Monday
The preacher Lord you know he might sing

Hallelujah
Sing hallelujah
Sing hallelujah
Sing hallelujah

So close no MATTER how far
couldn't be much more from the heart
forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters
never opened myself this way
life is ours, we live it our way
all these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters
trust I seek and I find in you
every day for us something new
open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

We're talking away
I don't know what
I'm to say I'll say it anyway
Today's another day to find you
Shying away
I'll be coming for your love, OK?

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

So needless to say
I'm odds and ends
But that's me stumbling away
Slowly learning that life is OK.
Say after me
It's no better to be safe than sorry

Take on me, take me on
I'll be gone
In a day or two

Day by day
Whistle while you work
Our backs are breaking
Up from hollow earth
From end to end, the noise begins
In the human battle stations,
And the big one's coming in

work, work, work, work,
work 'til holes are filled
work, work, work, work
bags of bones and skin
lovers hold hands, tossing their heads
tangled in hair
tied to earth with skin and glue

A long, long time ago
In a galxy far away
Naboo was under an attack

And I thought me and Qui-Goon Jinn
could talk the Federation in
to maybe cutting them a little slack

But their response It did not thrill us
They locked the door and tried to kill us
We escaped from that gas
And met Jar-Jar and Boss Nass
We took a bongo from the scene
and we went to Theed to see the queen
we all wound up on Tatooine

That's where we found this boy

Oh, my my this here Anakin guy,
Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi

Did you know this junkyard slave
Isn't even old enough to shave,
but he can use the force they say
Ohhh, do you see him hitting on the queen
though he's just nine and she 14
Yeah he's probly gonna marry her,
SOOOOOMEDay
Well, I know he built C-3PO and I
Heard how fast his pod can go
And we were broke it's true
so we made a wager or two
Ooooh, he was a prepubescent flying ace
and the minute Jabba started off that race
Well, I knew who would win first place,
Oh yes, it was our boy
We started singing

Oh, my my this here Anakin guy,
Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi

Well, we took him back to Coruscant
the Jedi counsel we knew would want to see how good the boy could be.
So we took him there and we told the tale
How his midichlorians were off the scale and he might fulfill
that prophecy
Well the counsel was impressed of course
Could he bring balance to the Force
They interviewed the kid
But training they forbid
Because Yoda sensed in him much fear
Qui-Gonn said "Now listen hear, just stick it in your pointy ear,
I still will teach this boy"
He started singing

Oh, my my this here Anakin guy,
Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi

Well, we caught a ride back to Naboo
Cause Queen Amidala wanted to
I frankly would have liked to stay
And in the end some Gungans died
Some ships blew up and some pilots fried
A lot of folks were croakin'
The Battle droids were broken
And the Jedi I admire most
met up with Darth Maul and now he's toast
I'm still here and he's a ghost
I guess I'll train that boy

Oh, my my this here Anakin guy,
Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi

Oh, my my this here Anakin guy,
Maybe Vader someday later now he's just a small fry
He left his home and kissed his mommy goodbye
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi
saying soon I'm gonna be a Jedi

A note about lyrics: Please don't post all of the lyrics to a song. There are copyright issues with that. The mods have been known to (rightfully) shut down threads because of it.

Because happiness is a warm gun.

But now another stranger seems
to want you to ignore his dreams
as though they were the burden of some other
O you've seen that man before
his golden arm dispatching cards
but now it's rusted from the elbow to the finger
And he wants to trade the game he plays for shelter
Yes he wants to trade the game he knows for shelter.

Well, the railway man he cut the cards
And dealt them each a hand of five
And for the Lord he was praying hard
Or that train he'd have to ride
The Devil, he had three aces and a king
And the Lord, he was running for a straight
He had the queen, the knave the nine and ten of spades
All he needed was the eight
But when he called for one more card
He drew the diamond eight!
And the Devil said to the Son of God
"I believe you've got a straight
So deal me one, for the time has come
To see who'll be the king of this place!"
But
As he spoke, from beneath his cloak,
He slipped another ace!
Ten thousand souls was the opening bid
And it soon went up to sixty five
But the Lord didn't see what the Devil had done
And he said,
"That suits me fine. I'll raise you high
To a hundred and five, and forever put an end to your sins!"
But the Devil let out a mighty shout:
"My hand wins!"

Kind of long, but it deserves it. [Smile]

(nice [Smile] )

And then sweeping up the jokers that he left behind
you find he did not leave you very much
not even laughter
Like any dealer he was watching for the card
that is so high and wild
he'll never need to deal another

(again, LC on "Stranger Song")

"Whenever we hold each other
We hold each other
There's a feeling that's gone
Something has gone wrong
And I don't know how much longer I can take it
House made of heart break it
Take my head in your hands and shake it
in this near wild heaven
Not near enough."

REM, "Near Wild Heaven"

"I'm your man; I'm trying to recover the sweet love that we knew
You understand that my heart can't go on beating without you
Well, your loveliness has wounded me, I'm reeling from the blow
I wish I knew what it was keeps me loving you so
I'm breathing hard, standing at the gate
But I don't know how much longer I can wait.."

Ah, the moon's too bright
The chain's too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah, but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man

-- "I'm Your Man"
Leonard Cohen

There were promises made in the darkness
Promises made in your sleep
Promises the gods demand you keep...

You gave him love, love he would soon betray
You gave him life, I am the price you'll pay
Sure as the grave, you must accept what is
Now his life is forever mine

"Forever Yours (Reprise)," from Once on this Island

if i had a hammer,
i'd hammer in the morning
i'd hammer in the evening,
all over this land
i'd hammer out danger,
i'd hammer out a warning
i'd hammer out the love between my brothers and my sisters all over this land...

if i had a bell,
i'd ring it in the morning...

if i had a song,
i'd sing it in the morning...

Lookin' out my window ,
At the ice and snow,
Lookin' out my window ,
I've got no place to go

Lookin' at my snowman
Makes me wanna cry
He's the only man I got,
Since we said goodbye

Oh, I've got no man,
No man but a snowman...
