Well this guitar is awesome and never out of tune And I play it for the people out underneath the moon And I lead 'em all to Jesus with the melody and chords Of a song that praises the Lord

Standing on your mama's porch You told me it would last forever And when you held my hand I knew that it was now or never Those were the best days of my life

Good ol' Bryan. I'll never forget that song, though I've got mixed feelings about that.

Eslaine... that was by the band M and it was actually called "Popmuzik" (If you're referring to the one that goes "New York, London, Paris, Munich, everybody talk about popmuzik.... pop, pop, popmuzik...")

Sometimes I don't know what to think about the world When this guy is burnin' up in the street with gasoline And the flames show no mercy So when you really need someone to talk to you It doesn't always work like it's supposed to
But you can love yer brain Even if it slips down the drain Man, I'm not no drug addict But a person's gotta have something To keep him from going insane
Well, this man kills this other man Who's killed this other man, so it's okay And this fourteen year old's sittin' in the electric chair Smilin' and smokin' a cigarette So I guess I was right all along readin' Mad magazine

Some people say a lie’s a lie’s a lie But I say why Why deny the obvious, child? Why deny the obvious, child?
And in remembering a road sign I am remembering a girl when I was young And we said these songs are true These days are ours These tears are free And hey The cross is in the ballpark The cross is in the ballpark

O Annie the U2 ubergeek, answer me this: In the Best of 1990-2000 version of "Mysterious Ways," what is that line that's different from the album version? The album version goes "She's the wave, she turns the tide; she sees the man inside the child." But the other one goes "She's the wave, she turns the tide; (something something) and she knows why." I can't for the life of me figure out what Bono's singing.

I'm really ashamed to admit this, JB, but I can't tell either, and my faultless sources have nothing to say about the newest B-side versions, only the live versions.
My best guess is, "She loves him.... she don't know why"

Darling when I was your age I could do anything I could be a restless heart A social force Or just genuine And baby don't our dreams die hard In the ashes of destiny I wish that I could lay to rest The bitterness that keeps telling me
About another good lie Coming down like a freezing rain From a hot blue sky Another good lie Coming in like a crosstown hurricane on fire Another good lie Coming down on your Daddy's soul 'Til it made him old Another good lie Another good lie Another good lie

Let’s not twist again like we did last summer Let’s do something else; let’s have some real fun Let us continue to exploit and abuse one another It’s time to do Phase two of the funky western civilization
Politely kill the person on your right Kill the person to your left Kill everybody in sight Promenade and kill yourself
All of those babies died just as I suspected It’s an election year; it’s time to buy another gun (bang bang) I don’t know who’s drivin’ now, and I ain’t interested It’s true, honey, it’s all true There’s nothing you can do Except the funky western civilization
You gently kill the person on your right Kill the person to your left Kill everybody in sight Do-si-do and kill yourself

Show me something worse Than a child outside a church Begging with a cardboard box In a heartless town that hurts and mocks him And on a chair, anywhere I will sit down and cry, And close my eyes
Against the Christmas windows Here in Christmas town A young girl rests her tattered head And the festive lights shine down
And if she were a kitten Someone would take her home But we’ve no pity for our own kind Our hearts are stone Our eyes are blind
Show me something more Than the wolf at the door All the begging in the cold To keep the wolf from the fold
Show me something more Than the an honest girl turned thief or whore Under African sun or Dublin rain Necessities remain the same
