Heh, in context, that's actually part of a brilliant prosecution of religion. Seriously.
Though I'm rather flattered that PSI misses lil' Eddie. First she tells me she loves sharing, then suggests her husband bite me as I bite her, then we go into barking, now this? My god, woman, a little subtlety.

not saying papa's fast and loose, mind you. nor easy.
Not sure why my name was chosen on this, since it isn't my thread, but I'll try to answer.
My personal opinion is that most of the OOC quotations just aren't all that funny. Kinda like the few-and-far-between quality Dobies. I also think it's a bit lame to post an OOC from the chatroom, since there's no way to tell what the correct context is. Otherwise it's just Beavis and Butthead laughing because someone said pianist, which was never funny. Part of it might also be that many of the quotations are pretty short -- it's like having a 200x200 grid of letters and being excited to find a three-letter word hidden diagonally. I also don't like the commentary -- if I have to crowbar the quotation into the context I think is funny, evidencing that it's not funny enough on its own, then I'd choose to leave it out.
But every time I say something like that, it makes me sound pompous. Although I think I have a good sense of humor, I don't think I'm the funniest person at Hatrack by a longshot (been disabused of the possibility far too often). And other people enjoy them, so as long as it's kept to one or two threads (as I tried once with Dobies but never really caught on), I generally keep my naysaying to myself. Plus I'm usually at times guilty of the things I rail against, so I have no right to say a thing about it, right?
I'm kinda worried for my heterosexuality, actually. I do far too talented a gay impression (which is and should be offensive to every homosexual man across the planet) (Thweetie, thtop it!).
But then, I also do a (terrible) Sean Connery accent, and I'm not yet Scottish, so what the hell. We can still have our affair thang, baby! I get to be the man in this relationship, though, right?

Pop I'm firmly behind you on this one. But does the size of the post matter?
Ok, enough of that.
I agree, AIM chat quotes are only funny for people who spend a lot of time in the chatroom. But that's very much a clique and if they want to have a thread of their own (in addition to the hug thread) more power to them. Like you say, at least they're not spamming the front page with accursed dobies, the worst meme ever to infect Hatrack.

BtL, what has the hug thread to do with chat? There is some overlap between hug-threaders and people-who-chat-too-much, but the Venn diagram would show more non-overlap.

Is it not all chatters in the hug thread any more? I confess, I haven't opened the thread since the last blue moon. But back when I did there was a strong correlation between huggers and chatters.
But hey, if I'm wrong I'm wrong. I still don't care enough to check.
Oh, and since I'm here, boo dobies! Boo!
