From Jesus Freak Hideout:

In the Name of Love: Artists United for Africa
Various Artists

With the DATA project gaining mass support in Christian music to support the fight against the AIDS epidemic in Africa, it's no wonder such high profile artists have gathered together to put a project like this together. Boasting names like Sixpence None the Richer, P.O.D., Toby McKeehan (aka tobyMac), Nichole Nordeman, Switchfoot, Pillar, and others, this is a U2 tribute with a lineup like few tributes get. Audio Adrenaline's "Gloria" is an excellent rendition accompanied by Sanctus Real's dead-on "Beautiful Day". This is one record that we're highly anticipating hearing in completion and one to get excited about...

Record Label: Sparrow Records
Album length: unknown
Street Date: January 2004
TRACK LIST:
1. Love Is Blindness by Sixpence None the Richer
2. Grace by Nichole Nordeman
3. Beautiful Day by Sanctus Real
4. Gloria by Audio Adrenaline
5. Sunday Bloody Sunday by Pillar
& more by tobyMac, Switchfoot, Delirious, P.O.D. & others!

Wacky, huh? Actually, I'm interested in hearing Sixpence's cover and whatever song one of my favorite bands, The Choir will be contibuting. Other than those two songs, however, I'm not sure whether I dshould be interested or just scared... [Angst]

Hmmmm... definitely freaky. Almost as bad as Pickin' on U2: a Bluegrass Tribute. Though Sixpence shouldn't be so bad, and "Love is Blindness" is one of my favorite songs. At least the proceeds are going to DATA.

By the way - the newest scoop at U2.com says the new album is "in the home stretch"... I'm shaking! I can't handle the suspense!

I'm in a state that can only be descibed as anxious -- what, with a new U2 album on the horizon, the final LOTR movie, Kill Bill Vol. 2 and Mandy Moore's new album next week!

Did I say Mandy Moore! [Eek!] Oh my!

Interesting. Audio Adrenaline has redone secular songs with a Christian slant before (Edgar Winter's "Free Ride," for example), and they've actually turned out pretty well. This CD has potential.

Hmm, all I will say is that P.O.D.'s version of "Bullet the Blue Sky" is really, really cool. Seriously, it rocks.
