Sleep flat on your back or stomach, or get a pillow that adjusts to the shape of your head/neck.

When I've hurt my neck, I usually break out my molded space age foam pillow for a few days; it completely takes the stress off of my neck muscles when I'm lying down, and usually, if they don't have to support my head, they're able to sort themselves out.

Ice your spine, and take extra advil or another ibufrofen. Your neck is out of line, and will cause your muscles to spasm, so if you heat anything, only heat the muscles near your neck. Otherwise, you will further inflame your vertebrae.
Roll a towel to the thickness of about 3-4 inches in diameter(see information on Pi Day thread to determine diameter) Put this roll in the bottom of your pillowcase. Sleep on your side. Your neck should be straight.
Treat it like a sprain.
