Well here you go, this is Katharinas community. You know it is honestly funny and sad at times how often we can try to find differences in the things that bind us. So many people, myself included, have some reason to lash out at things that are meant only to be good. Thus I will at the very least not lash out. So I dunno, lets just talk about things that are a little warming, a little loving. Its been a long time since I've had an honest chance to talk about things of that nature for a great deal of reasons. So hey, at the very least you can shine a little on the cloudy day that is my life.

I will add one thing, I really love tulips. I love the way that gardners can sculpt a patch of tulips into an artwork. Just weaving the different colors back and forth to make something much more beautiful than one tulip could ever be. I suppose I see tulips as one of those flowers that isn't exactly the prettiest alone, but when it binds together, when there are hundreds it is ( at least to me) the prettiest flower there is. People are a lot like that in a way, if you get my hint.

Hot cocoa is the ultimate beverage. The only reason I even approach Star bucks is for its creamy goodness. I could also love it so much for the simple fact that I am a Minnesota boy and it does get a tad chilly up north.

You wouldn't want to rub my feet, I have big pink scars on the top of my feet from all the walking in Iraq. I actually had silver dollar sized holes on the tops of them for the first 4 months or so. But if you'd be willing to touch my feet ( I keep them super clean) I'd love to get a foot rub.

So does my middle brother. I swear, it must be a recessive gene or something, but my middle brother gives the greatest foot rubs I could imagine. My mom used to bargain with him - he gives her a foot rub, she'd take him to the movies. They are quite good, I must admit. I think I'll walk through the grass barefoot after work today for a substitute foot rub.

I started my internship today, and I actually sweated through my shirt. I have no idea how I'm going to avoid cleaning my suits every week.
Does anyone know any good ways to avoid sweating? I'm actually considering getting some first aid dry coldpacks to use when I walk to the courthouse from the office.
What brainiac decided people should wear long wool pants and a wool jacket in June in DC?

I had some hot cocoa this morning, and got so hot I had to go buy a cold drink. Usually my office is so air conditioned I have to wear a sweater, but today we're sweltering.

No, what Dag needs is to find a job in a town where the legal types aren't so uptight about suits.
Here in Las Vegas, for example, although you do wear a suit to court, once the temperature reaches a certain point (usually in May or June), the judge will direct all the attorneys to remove their jackets as soon as he/she walks into the courtroom. It's only one of many ways in which we show our Old Western informality. We jealously guard such informality in the face of the invasion of Californian attorneys, with their consarned, citified ways.

Seeing someone you haven't in awhile. Taking a long walk... So many things. Just having someone around that cares or someone to care about - whether it's a family member, friend, or even a stranger.

The courtroom is air-conditioned. It's the darn walk outside that gets me, plus the train ride in. Even not wearing the jacket, I sweat enough that I have to wear the jacket to cover it up. It's horrible.
And it's a summer-weight suit (although, not really tropical). The office allows business casual, but to go to court you have to be wearing a suit, and I want to be able to take advantage of the opportunities to go to court.

That's the other thing. In the Old West, we don't believe in public transportation. We all drive our air-conditioned cars to huge parking structures located only a block or two from the courthouse. Better yet, most of these parking structures are free, if you get validated at the booth inside the casino. No sweat!

Oh, I wish. I had to park in a reserved spot at the metro this morning because they blocked off a third of the parking lot for a special event. Cost me a $40 parking ticket. This is why I want to work in the 'burbs.
But, oh, boy, did I have a good first day at work. When I got through the computer training, I walked into the General Felonies section and one of my two attorneys said, "Quick - go to courtroom 217 and watch opening arguments in a drug case."
And it's winter here, and a pretty miserable day at that so I have just the right setting for optimum enjoyment.

Dag, sounds like it will be a good internship for you. Good luck! Oh, BTW you are better off wearing wool suits than poly suits....they don't breathe at all! You could look for linen of cotton suits, but they wrinkle really bad.
Best bet is a cotton-poly blend, but try to stay on the more wool side, usually about 55-45%; they breathe a bit, but aren't as heavy as pure wool.(can you tell I sell suits for a living?lol)
