A friend of mine has been "sick" since the 6th of July. She has been throwing up after feeling a really cold chill go down her spine and she starts to see spots. She says everything else about her is normal , she doesn't feel sick etc. She took a pregnancy test just a few days ago ( I guess she thought that might have been the issue). But she had her period just 4 days before it started happening and she said she hasn't slept with anyone since then. Plus the test came up negative. Was wondering if someone might know whats wrong with her. I'm almost thinking she might be making it up etc. she has had a semi history of that. You never know and I'd like to think she is telling the truth.

I am not a doctor, and don't play one on the Internet...
...however, I'd suggest she visit a cardiologist or an internist IMMEDIATELY!!!
The vagus nerve connects to both the heart and the stomach. And spots could be caused by an interruption of the blood supply.

A woman’s heart attack has more varied symptoms than a man’s...many women experience NO chest pain... they...experience nausea...and...vomiting during a heart attack

Why doesn't she just go to a doctor?

The US doesn't provide free medical care while private medical care is the most expensive in the world.
Jobs for 18year-olds which provide medical insurance are scarce. Jobs which pay livable wages to 18year-olds are even scarcer.

Let's not make this into a thread about health insurance. I asked a simple question. As a former single mother, I well aware of our country's problems with adequate, affordable medical coverage. Many 18 year-olds are still on their parents' insurance.

The heart attack is scary enough. But, even if it's not that serious, barring pregnancy, vomitting is the sign of something wrong. Repeated vomitting over a week is a sign something is very wrong.

Get her to a doctor.

I was going to say migraines myself, with the spots and nausea/vomiting.

Definitely something to check out.

A couple of years ago I started vomiting suddenly particularly in the morning and whenever I had an empty or nearly empty stomach. Also if I got hot or under heavy exertion. Several times at a job site I had to run for the bathroom (which are often very far away at jobsites) and once or twice didn't make it. It turned out to be Barrett's Esophagus, an inflammation of the lower esophagus. I now take a pill every day and I'm fine.

It doesn't really sound like that, but it's something to rule out. I hope your friend figures it out and gets better.

And if medical costs or lack of insurance IS an issue, perhaps she can find a nearby clinic that is free and/or has a sliding scale.

It sounds like a migraine to me as well. However, from the comments others have made, it seems that your friend should see a doctor. If she can't afford it, there are probably places in the community that can help her. In fact, if someone came to my church asking for help getting medical attention, I bet the church would let them borrow money, or have it outright. There may be other groups (religious or not) that would do the same thing.
