I have to write and essay based around and upon the themese of the story, "The Dead" by James Joyce, and I can only find one or two major themes and they both seem rather cheesy, if anyone here has any I'd be most appreciative.

Sadly, it has been too long, Rhaegar, I'm sorry.
What I did when I wrote papers was to read the story or poem, then close my eyes and let the most poignant images come back to me. I focused on those, and then tried to figure out what they were saying, and if they were important to the essence of the work. I wrote about those, and I always got great grades. That is just my general style, though. you have to relax and find yours. Read it again if you have to. Sometimes that works.

That's what you get for trying to write about James "I don't give a crap if anyone likes my stories or not" Joyce.

I just started reading the story, and so far I really like it. I never thought I'd say that about James Joyce...
