Just wanted to indicate (in the unlikely event that anyone actually cares) that, in keeping with the time-honoured Hatrack tradition, I have created this new screen name to avoid posting a landmark with my old one. Also, I think I like this one better. So after digging_holes posts his landmark (because it will be posted, sooner or later), I think I'll just retire the name for good and go on using this one.

We apologize for the interruption. We now return to your regularly scheduled foruming.

But why do people do this? I mean perform a show of will resist the peer pressure to do a landmark and just continue posting. I mean no one can *make* you post a landmark can they?

Although I am probably not one to talk as I will *never* reach a landmark at the pace I post.

"dh" means "darling husband" on wedding planning sites. Just so you know. [Smile]

Heh. I hope that's prophetic and indicates that I will someday be a good husband to someone. I chose it because that's what most people call me anyway.

And I do it because I want to post a landmark. It just isn't ready yet.

I reached a "landmark" the other day. I didn't post anything though. I have nothing to say and I thought it would be stupid for me to make a long post about nothing. ::shrug:: Landmarks are good if you have something interesting or important to say. Otherwise I think they are kinda pointless.

Hey, a landmark about nothing could be a classic. The Seinfeld of landmarks, as it were.

Well, after about two months of avoiding my landmark, it's finally been posted. I was worried I didn't have anything interesting to say, but I did want to post one. Of course, I don't think it is terribly interesting and it's not all that well written, but it's a little glimpse at my life that I wanted to share with everyone here. I'm not sure that I'll do any others though at the 2000 mark or higher unless I really do have something special.

How many posts does this stinker have? I'm guessing about 300. But I haven't used it since 3000.
