Hey all you intelligent Jatraqueros:

If you could describe the best of the 80s in a sentence, what would your sentence be? Would it be a movie quote? A song lyric? Something from politics?

Not so much the best of the 80's, but:

Our hair was as big as our shoulderpads.

[I like the shorter and sweeter ones above, though.]

Here's one from what was quite possibly the best movie ever made--Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

"How could I possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this?"

Most accurate description,

Ten years between 1980 and 1990

or

Those years between Iranian Hostage taking and Gulf War Invasion.

So far, Lost Ashes has the best quotes.

[Big Grin]

I'm looking for positive lines, believe it or not. Some seed ideas for a promotional piece I have to write. I have The 80's Game on my desk, but the trivia in there tends to be way too trivial. I'm just wondering how to encapsulate the 80s in a sentence and keep it positive.

Ditto me... I was a baby factory during the 80's and completely oblivious to most of the fads and fashions. I didn't even have a TV for most of the decade.

Punwit, that quote is the headline on the second page of my baby book. I was released from the hospital on January 26th 1986, the day challenger exploded, born six days earlier.

So my one sentence description of the eighties would be

"goo goo ga ga" though I was a pretty literate baby, so more likely "goo shakespear, ga television"

I was born in 1985, lived in Maryland for 10 months, went to Japan, and didn't come back till 1990. I truly did not experience the 80's in any way like most of you did. The 80's in my perspective was Nintendo, and Tokyo modeling jobs.
