Sara, do you have any reccomendations for a mild wrist injury? I've been lunging a horse more often than usual lately, and the wrist on my whip hand aches when I crack the whip, use a doorknob, or try to open a jar or something with that hand. I was thinking of wrapping it to give it more support, but I don't know if that will hurt the mobility of that hand or not.

So what about if there are crunching noises. My husband has had me listen to his shoulders as he lifts weights, and there are definitely crunchings.

That sounds like tendinitis as well - many of the same recommendations would apply. Ice (10-20 min 2-3 times/day), rest, and antiinflammatories are good while it still hurts. After it feels better, do stretches and strengthening exercises. Talk to a physical therapist or an occupational therapist for expert opinions.

Caveat: if there's tingling or numbness in your hand, there's probably nerve involvement. Be VERY careful with it, follow the above recommendations, and go see an occupational therapist.
