I don't know how to love him.
What to do, how to move him.
I've been changed, yes really changed.
In these past few days, when I've seen myself,
I seem like someone else.
I don't know how to take this.
I don't see why he moves me.
He's a man. He's just a man.
And I've had so many men before,
In very many ways,
He's just one more.

-- "I Don't Know How to Love Him" from Jesus Christ Superstar
(didn't notice we were now on page 2 and not going to change my lyrics entirely LOL)

There's a ship out on the ocean
at the mercy of the sea.
It's been tossed about, lost and broken,
wandering aimlessly.
And God somehow you know that ship is me.

It's gonna be all right
It's gonna be okay
Just hold on tight
Let it all go away
Oh mercy, mercy baby
What do you want from me
Well I plead mercy, mercy baby
I do not know what this all means
It's been awhile since I been stylin'
In just my jacket and my jeans

I'm sorry for the chains i put on you

I'm sorry for myself

You're living in America,
At the end of the millennium,
You're living in America,
Where it's like the Twighlight Zone...

And when you're living in America,
At the end of the milliennium...

You're what you own.

Wait, does a line count as a full sentence, or what? Because Goody didn't even get to finish one line where she stopped.

(btw, I love you for picking Janis there Goody) [Smile]

I always thought of a line as being how the singer phrased it, where the pauses were, or where the singer changed if there's more than one vocalist. So if we're quoting "Bohemian Rhapsody", then "Bismillah, NO" is one line and "Will you let me go" is another, because different people are singing each of those. Of course, the two-line restriction for copyright issues does make things more challenging at times...

And Janis just happened to be on the radio when I read yours [Smile] Me love classic rock best

'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight
'Till by turning, turning we come round right.

-"Simple Gifts", Shaker Elder Joseph Brackett, 1848.
