I love finding a good chili product that's actually hot. (Just discovered a really good chili chutney that made my eyes water) I love slicing tomatoes. There's just something satisfying about it. I love being woken up by a phone call from my partner. (She'll be gone for another two weeks with her sister) I love feeling better after being sick. I love the anticipation of walking into a film you've been waiting for. I love looking at real estate and dreaming about affording my own place. What do you love?

The first day of GrassRoots, looking at my schedule folded in four even parts, knowing that I have four days of musical bliss ahead of me.

Waking up, realizing it's the weekend, and falling back to sleep again The fresh breezes that stir as a storm gathers Lighting the Shabbos candles The sweet smell of spice at Havdallah Hanging out and doing nothing together with friends Shade

The smell of fresh cut grass The acoustic guitar (playing, not listening - though listening is good too). Waking up before my alarm goes off.

The look of joy and accomplishment following hard work. Old, thick cheese that crumbles in your mouth. Anything to do with my wife, who will be returning tomorrow from a long trip.

Lightning bugs filling the treetops on my drive home. Multi-colored soap at the drive-thru car wash. The smell of onions and garlic sauteeing on Sunday morning ('cause I know a pot of sauce is in the making). When the seeds I've planted sprout and begin to peak through the dirt. The first cold and crisp day of winter.

Watching friends laugh good, hearty laughs. The feeling of utter, satisfying exhaustion while dancing or running. The first daffodil leaves in spring. Imbolc. First opening a new book I've been craving. Pets as excited to see me as I am to see them. Untouched wilderness (though unfortunately this is not a simple thing anymore...)

Saying hello to people you don't know. Helping an old lady carry her groceries. Hugging the people you love.

Waking up next to someone you love. Having your pets greet you enthusiatically when you get home. Rain. Laying down on your bed when you're tired. Fun car rides. A beautiful sunset. Looking at pictures in an old photo album. Making faces at little kids (in church, in line at the store, sitting at a stop light). Hugs and kisses. Smiles.
