Too funny! You made me laugh so hard.
Happy Camper, I had an online friend that lived in Hurricane, WV. Never visited though--we get enough hurricanes in FL. *groan* bad pun, sorry.

Thanks Starr- I usually don't use those words in jokes, I couldn't resist. But when I was out today doing errands, I sort of regretted since that's not my usual style.

I like having a sig, and Ni! is short enough to type everytime. I don't even notice anymore, unless i'm writing an email or something to someone i don't know through any fora.

There is a Normal, Illinois and an Oblong, Illinois. The wedding announcements in the local paper can read: "Normal Woman Weds Oblong Man"

There was an article published in The Columbus (OH) Dispatch a while ago mentioning all kinds of strange town names in West Virginia. I wish I could find. It has to be in an archive somewhere.
Not to tease WV or anything of that sort, but there aren't names like that in such a quantity in any state anywhere else in the US.

Buena Vista, CO. Not oxymoronic, but horrible nonetheless as it is pronounced BYOOna Vista.
No Name, CO. The state highway officials who saw this on the application for the town to build an on ramp onto I-70 thought it was so funny that they took it literally and printed No Name on the sign.
