...and I'm all nervous about it. I've had three interviews and shadowed in the department, at the request of the supervisor no less, and we're supposed to find out early next week. It's two salary steps up for me and much better hours.

I work in a call center. This would move me from the main line over to the Quality Department.

Oh, okay. I worked in a call center for a while, and I definitely hoped to become a team lead or quality or something. When you talked about pay steps I thought it might be government work. They have a grade system and then within the grades are steps. It is possible to be on a lower grade but make more than a higher grade due to the step one is on. The steps have to do with how long you've worked & performance, whereas the grades are more often linked to qualifications and responsibilities.

Does this mean you don't have to be on the phones anymore? That would be the main cause of celebration in my book.
