Twenty years ago today I married my wife, Teresa. Looking back over all these years, I have to say that, generally speaking, it was a good move.
On my part, anyway. She may have different ideas on the matter.
But, as a regular consumer of popular entertainment and the more colorful types of newspapers, I have come to realize how remarkably lucky I have been and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank her for being such a unique, wonderful person.
She has never once, to my knowledge, starred in a sex tape with an aging rock star, a b-list actor, or a Czechoslovakian gymnast. I don't think she even knows who Paris Hilton is.

The "at this time" addition was classic!
But you left out how she makes great Firefly/Serenity Barbies! (OK, so she probably makes other kinds of Barbies too but that's all I've seen links to.)

As it happens our views on yardwork also match our views on housework.
BTW, we don't have any earth-shakingly romantic plans for this week -- although today is our 20th wedding anniversary and Friday is our 25th year together -- because we were going to get away to a luxury hotel for the weekend and just enjoy the room service and amenities, but then a) she had cervical laser surgery and isn't feeling especially romantic yet, and b) both of us got laid up with bronchitis a week ago and there's nothing like uncontrollable coughing fits to buzzkill the mood.
Fortunately we're patient folk. I did get Scott and Erica to announce our anniversary on the Orlando radio station that Teres listens to in the mornings, MIX 105.1. The look on her face was priceless...

If anyone's interested in hearing my voice -- shudder -- I was playing with our new recording stuff and recorded this week's column, pretty much for the heck of it. Here's the link.
