Me too, Ic.

Mine is rif-KAH, with the "v" said more like an "f" -- but with a dash of "v." [Wink]

And I've been saying it with the accent on the first syllable. RIF-kah.

Thanks a bunch, Tante! I have now tried saying my name several times with the accent on each syllable and trying to decide which ones sounds more like how I say it. Now neither sounds right!

An aspirated jay sound (the jay sound like in Jaguar) follwed by “eye.” One syllable.

My name is not to be pronounced. Try to leave an appropriately respectful pause, though, before continuing to the rest of the sentence.

GaalDornick, how your pronounce my name is exactly how I do it. Rye-uh. But other people pronounce it Ray-uh, I know, like a ray of sunshine. Does that clear things up? [Smile]

The reference breyerchic was making to my sister is that her name is Maya. So she pronounces my username so that it rhymes with that. Basically, like you and I do too!

Evidently I've been pronouncing everyone's names wrong.

I'm MAY-bus. I don't know if that's the original pronunciation, but that's how it was pronounced in First Wave.

I can not explain how to pronounce "cheir". The "os" is exactly the same as in post. The rest is pretty simple.

Why call me cheerios when Chairos (plural) is obviously closer than just what it reminds you of?

Wow, this thread is going to mess me up permenantly. People pronounce their names strangely.

I am "TESH-ee", just how it looks. ALthough I suppose I could be "Tesh-ai", but not without trying too hard.

"That's what I said, Sarah. RAH, as in Ramen. Raia."

That's the part that threw me off. I pronounce Ramen "Ray-men" which is not how I pronounce your name. I understand now, though.

Mine is easy. KAT-uh-rain.

Though, people often misspell my name as Katarin, so it's possible that they're mispronouncing it as well.
