Yeah, because animal human hybrid cloning will totally alleviate the fears of the people against it.

Major squick for me... I really don't like the idea of playing with genes in this way because we don't understand enough about what constitutes a human individual to be sure we aren't creating and destroying them. Like it or not, a major part of being human is unquantifiable things and I think it's preposterously rash to assume that those things aren't there because we can't see them displayed.
Also, does anyone remember the thread mocking some conservative (Bush, I think) for making public statements of policy against human-animal hybrid cloning? perhaps those who ridiculed him would like to acknowledge that in this specific case he was more knowledgeable and had greater foresight than they?

I want scorpion-man supersoldiers and friendly panda-bear people that we can buy at mall outlet shops. Can I pay money for a designer fox-hybrid baby?
REMEMBER: they aren't humans, so they ain't got no legal protections. Finally, a way around things that formerly prevented me from having pets that can talk.

That's the one, Twinky, though I gave up on it right away... Tante's first post is the last one I remember.
