Because, you know, there are some things that everyone should have on hand.

Hey, you clicked.

And not just on my link, either--it just goes to an index. You looked at the index, picked something horrible, and then listened to it.

Thats like handing me a gun, and blaming me for shooting myself. I was duty bound to make sure the files were what you said they were, they could have easily been sound files of a more diabolical natures (though what could be worse I am not sure.) So in reality the blame lies entirely on your shoulders! [Taunt] [Taunt]

That fingernails on chalkboard one went on forever and ever. I'm curious to see what bad vibes sound like.

The vomit one is especially repulsive. I think it's that the sound of retching is accompanied by the wet splashes of vomit hitting a solid surface.

The dentist drilling is definitely the hardest one for me to listen to.

::listens to it again::

2nds the Dentist choice, I would rather chew broken glass then be on the receiving end of one of those dental drills.

I thought of vomit when I saw the thread. Sure enough, it's there.

Yeah, you can pretty much count on vomiting, babies crying, and fingernails on a chalkboard being on an index of this sort.

It's funny--I don't really mind having a dentist drill on my teeth. I mean, it's not fun, but there are definitely worse things. The sound, though...

Bad vibes turned out to be the listing, after the votes, of which sounds were the worst. Nails on a chalkboard was actually, they said, number sixteen, but several scrape-y noises made the cut, along with a whoopee cushion. Vomiting made number one.

Actully ya know I didn't find the dentist one that bad the mic feedback was pretty bad for me though and any of the one that had a simular high squeeky noise. Also the vomit was fairly nasty.

Those babies don't sound like babies.

Just thought I'd say.

I'm surprised that the whoopee cushion made the cut. It seemed fairly inoffensive to me compared to most of them.

Noemon, you're like the person who says, "Oh, this tastes terrible...here, have some!"

And everyone else, you're like the people who proceed to eat what's handed to you!

Sillies.

[Smile] Yeah Megan, I was thinking about that last night. Most of the sound clips on that page were truly awful, but I listened to almost all of them, and listened to some of the more awful ones multiple times. I'm not entirely sure what to make of that. I not only said "Oh, this tastes terrible", I then proceeded to clean my plate and go back for seconds.

That makes me giggle a whole lot. I have this mental image of a buffet table full of Klingon delicacies and the like, with buckets of weird insects on the side or something, and tentacles reaching out from underneath the buffet hood.

I've heard that he does that, too. Durian, anyone? [Wink]

[Smile] Actually, I like durian. It isn't my favorite fruit or anything, but it's fairly good.

Oh for the love of all things holy durian is an abomination amongst fruits.

My family stopped at 7-11 in Malaysia to get ice cream and my mom asked for vanilla. Since they had none we got her durian instead just for giggles. My mom tasted it and nearly threw up exclaiming, "This is icecream from hell!"

My dad said, "It can't be THAT bad." And after tasting it offered us 10 cents for every lick. My sister after braving a lick rolled down the window and hung her head out and I made my attempt. I am not exagerating that one lick made my gag reflex kick in hardcore, I seriously was ready to throw up right there.

Incredibly with just one lick, I was burping up the taste for 2-3 hours afterwards, it was extremely unpleasant.

Durian smells terrible and SHOCKER it tastes even worse.
