A while back, there was a thread about paintings and other graphic art. Someone mentioned Vladimir Kush, I clicked through, and I liked his painting _Arrival of the Flower Ship_ (http://www.orangecountyfineart.com/kush_new/arrival_of_the_flower_shop.jpg) so much that I bookmarked it... and then forgot about it.
Today I attended a wedding at a hotel. I arrived early, and as I perused the table with the nametags telling guests which table to sit at, I glanced up at the painting (a print on canvas, really) on the wall. It seemed familiar, and I quickly realized it must be the same artist whose flower ship I'd bookmarked. It was this one: http://www.visionsfineart.com/kush/images/departure_of_the_winged_ship.jpg
I just wanted to say "thank you" to whoever mentioned this painter on Hatrack, because his images speak to me.

Wow, those are very cool. They remind me of this image from the POV-Ray hall of fame. (Upon further investigation, I am not as impressed with most of his other stuff.)
Also, somewhat along the same lines, this guy's stuff is pretty freakin' incredible.

I first saw Kush's work at his gallery in Lahaina (Maui). It is even more impressive IRL than on the web. I've got one of his books (signed) at home. I particularly like this one. Its really astonishingly beautiful in the original. Of course, even if I could afford an original of it I don't have the 9" feet of wall space I'd need to hang it.
