Today I am a man.

What should I do first? I was thinking that I would register to vote, then go to sleep. Then I would re-read some excerpts from Summa Theologica for my philosophy class.

That is... unless you have better suggestions for what I should do with my newfound power!!! I suppose I could spend the day signing all those petitions on campus. [Dont Know]

Find as many places as possible where they give free meals on birthdays. I know they're out there, and I'm upset that Denny's no longer does it; every year from 18-22 or so I pretty much ate three meals at three separate Dennys on my birthday.

It's funny... you work your way up to these age milestones...

18: Yay! I'm grown up now!
21: Yay! I can drink!
25: Yay! I... uh... pay less for car insurance now!
30: Yay! I... uh... Hell, I don't know.

...and are expecting some amazing and dramatic change in one's life. And, when that day comes... it's just another day. But at least you can get a free meal or two.

Otherwise, congratulations! Don't do anything stupid!

Have you ever heard the Creed Song, "I'm 18"?

It's stuck in my head now, thanks to your thread title. Good work. [Smile]

Happy birthday!

Oh, man, you can do so many great things! Enter into legal binding contracts, gamble, buy porno, buy tobacco, buy tobacco related products, gamble, have sexual relations with overage people without endagering their freedom, gamble, vote, star in a porno, have the right to bear arms, own property, marry without parental consent, get an abortion, donate your body to science, and serve on a jury. And gamble. Man, have a good time today, though it'll be hard to cram all those things into one day.

On my 18th birthday, I opened my own bank account and signed a cell phone contract.

Exciting.

Children. [Roll Eyes]

Creed was covering an Alice Cooper song. You need to listen to more classic rock, blues, R&B, soul, whatever. You gotta know your roots.

Oh good, I was afraid Creed had stolen the name, they've just covered it, I'm ok.

If you travel to England or Hong Kong or many European countries you can drink legally.

You can sit and dream for the next 3 years imagining what playing a real slot machine feels like.

Who's Alice Cooper?

I'm actually really curious to hear that when I get home from work tonight. I can't picture that song being sung by... not Creed.

Glynn, according to the how old thread, she's older than I am! Not a whole lot younger than you, possibly older than your wife.

Spooky. Look guys, I was homeschooled, give me a break...

Actually, going to that Wikipedia link and finding out that Alice Cooper is a dude made it much more possible to imagine "I'm 18" being a cover... I was picturing Alice Cooper as, like, a folk singer or something.

I apologize for my rock ignorance. Carry on.

No worries. In years past, my only exposure to Alice Cooper was via Out of this World

No spreadsheet on ages, but I could update the spreadsheet I do have to to include an extra collumn for that. I actually had to look at the thread to see her age, and I don't even know Glynn's specific age, just was pretty sure he was older than his wife who I thought was two years older than me.

My suitemates keep trying to get me to go to a strip club, and are finally planning to get an "escort" to come here, despite me yelling at them that they are being morons, and I want no such thing. Any advice? I don't know how to handle this situation. I tried explaining to them calmly, I tried to make them understand that I don't want this, then I tried yelling at them. I don't know.
