Who's your favorite throwaway character in books/movies?

Mine's the guy from Galaxy Quest who was on that one episode...

I think "token" and "throwaway" are 2 different things.

For instance, "Roland" on Army Wives is a "token" but not a "throwaway" character.

Bilbo - token short guy in The Hobbit. And since the other main characters were dwarves, they had to get a REALLY short guy to be the token.
