A non-Batman/Superman DC movie? Can such a thing exist?

I'm hoping they've retooled the script a bit. Earlier versions posted online were a tad...uneven.

Still, done right, this could be very cool.

Watchmen doesn't count?

Seriously, though, that could be really cool.

If DC so much as hints that Watchmen takes place somewhere in the DC Multiverse, then Alan Moore will cast a spell on them.

No. According to (bleah) Countdown: Arena, Earth 12 contains a version of the DC Animated Universe, currently in its Batman Beyond era.

What could Moore do to DC that'd be worse than their current continuity?

I think I just failed some kind of geek test- I was astonished that someone is actually keeping track of this.

Actually, doesn't John Constantine exist in the DC Multiverse? Actually, in the same world with Superman and Batman?

Wouldn't that make Constantine a non-Batman/Superman DC movie?

He used to, until the Vertigo people decreed that all former DCU characters with Vertigo titles were now forbidden from crossing over, or even making references to the DCU, and likewise for the DCU heroes. James Robinson had to go through lots of red-tape in order to include Swamp Thing and Wesley Dodds in his Starman run, for instance. And only once in a blue moon can a DC title even hint at one of the Endless being present.

On the other hand, there are those who'd argue the character seen in the movie bore little resemblance to the one seen in the comics.

That's... terrifying. [Angst]

I'm amazed that they can come anywhere near successfully managing canon on that scale.

Interesting... I did not know that. Honestly, I gave up on DC Comics quite awhile ago. Whenever I do catch up with superheroes, it's with Marvel.

But... Now that I'm thinking about it, what about Supergirl? Sure, she's a Superman spinoff character, but nonetheless... I'm not trying to be snarky in any way, here. It's just a fascinating thought that DC really has had so few of their characters grace the silver screen.

And there are Steel and Catwoman, but those are admittedly spinoffs of Superman and Batman, respectively.
