The Christian Legal Society at UCH can openly discriminate, but cannot also receive public funding.

(By the way, what's with all the 5-4 decisions recently?)

*edited to remove only "LGBT students." CLS membership required to sign agreement to refrain from non-marital sexual activity, including 'unrepentant' homosexual conduct, and differing relgious convictions.

Language from this ruling on CLS bolsters the case against Prop 8 in California.

Oh man, wouldn't that be the best? I'll take an overturning of prop 8 as an unexpected christmas present.

The modern SCOTUS generally makes great decisions based on previous cases and the language of the Constitution. The problem is that neither the Constitution nor previous decisions are perfect, or necessarily even decent. Of course it is rare, pretty much never, that everyone is happy with a decision. To be honest most people just want the SCOTUS to rule in their favor rather than make a decision that logically follows from prior rulings etc. However, thats pretty normal.
