We knew that our creations, those soulless monsters, would one day take over completely, enslave us, degrade us, murder us not out of sadism or evil impulse, but out of a pure unstoppable uncaring heartless emotionless drive and need.
They are an ancient horror who's limited evil can be found winding its bloody way through our history. Recently, however, they have begun to gain more power, breed and interbreed more often, and become stronger.
Still they are our creations, created by mad Scientists and philosophers to serve our whim, enrich our lives, and do more than mere humans could in the name of humanity. But as predicted, they have come to conquer and rule us all for their enrichment, their whim.
At one point a brave hero strove to tame them, and he penned them well behind walls of words and threats.
His nephew took his power and strove to push them back further, but that was an age ago, and we must once again face these monsters down--if we can...if we dare.
What is the name of this soulless creation? Is it a robot? No for it is stronger and more enduring than a robot.
Is it a Frankenstein Monster? No, for it is harder to kill than Frankenstein's Monster. It has no fear of fire or guns. It is legally designated as immortal.
Is it some weapon crafted in the minds of our generals? No, though it is as organized as the best army, they have troops that outnumber all the armies on earth. They feed our armies and our armies bow to their whim.
Is it a virus that we have created in our folly? No, for it spreads not through touch or air or water, but through paper and promise and deed.
Is it a zombie? No for it eats brains, and muscles and families and lives. It can create a form of zombie of all who fall under its sway.
Is it a demon? No, for demons are evil for evil's sake. These are just unstoppable feeding machines.
It is the "Corporations". Corporations--Human constructs that seem to be taking over and controlling us, the weaker mere humans. They are the ultimate horror monster. Older than Dracula, they weave through our history. See the history of the "East India Company" amongst others.
Tamed by Theodore Roosevelt, and later further tamed by Franklin, they are fighting any leash or fence we have tried to contain them with.
Created by mad scientists, for Business is now the fashionable science, they are legally bound to one thing--make a profit for their share holders.
Not to save life or create jobs or encourage the betterment of anyone else. They have one goal--to make money. To do anything else would be a breach of their fiduciary duties.
They could be sued for compassion, unless they could prove that compassion created profit.
Legally they can not die, only go into bankruptcy and be bought by others. They will fight until they crush all others and swallow their essence.
In truth--there can be only one.
They have no souls, no bodies to destroy, no essence to attack except the essence of money.
There is you unstoppable enslaving monster for the next decade...the Corporation.

(Alternatively, we can just, y'know, trust that everyone is who they say they are, and address the content of what they say instead of making pointless speculation at some nefarious hidden motives.)
