PC Gamer and other assorted sources are reporting that Steam was hacked earlier this week. They're saying nothing was taken, but still, anyone who's ever purchased through steam should be checking their bank accounts carefully.

As do I. I'll have to pay more attention to my bank account for the next month. As it is, I'll change my password for now.

Good news pt. 1: Gabe Newell comes out and says, basically, "Hey yeah we're dealing with this out in the open and pretty much looking at what sony did and saying 'let's do the not that version.'
Good news pt. 2: it appears Steam had done good with encryption.

*nod* The encryption should give everyone a couple weeks to change all their credit cards and passwords, at least.
