My girlfriend and I are trying to figure out what to do with our food scraps. We are too lazy to compost for real, and have no idea what we would do with our compost once we'd have it. There's a place we can drop off our scraps, but it's too far away to be convenient.

We're vegan, so the scraps are pretty much just vegetable and fruit leftovers.

Our apartment is right next to a forest and we're wondering if it is OK/good to toss the leftovers in there? Could it negatively affect the animals?

Thanks.

Yeah, don't just throw your garbage in the woods. Get a compost bin, or actually put stuff in the trash. Your food scraps will do just fine in a landfill, if that's your worry.
