I am reading the Lost Gate and I have come to a puzzling passage. It is after Danny and Eric have the bad interaction with the Pawn shop owner. When Danny goes to the Silvermans they are on the phone to Stone. My question is how could Eric tell Stone about the incident with the pawn shop owner if Danny gated Eric to Buena Vista. How did Stone get in touch with Eric to get the information?

I have finished "The Lost Gate" last week and I do remember that event, still, I think Card did not provide any explanation because he had assumed - so I assume ;-) - that we would figure it out by ourselves. Likely Stone had contacts or means to reach Eric there through the Orphans "network" of contacts.
