Hello! Long time reader, first time poster here. I had been out of the Ender loop for a while, having left off with Shadows in Flight. This past Christmas I got all caught up with the Formic Wars books as well as Children of the Fleet and Ender in Exile.

With the addition of the Formic Wars and their cinematic nature, I think there may be a good opportunity to build them into a TV series. I think TV would be a better vehicle than movies because it would allow enough time for all the characters and intertwining plots to really be fully developed on-screen. Each book could be adapted to a season of a show with the episodes each covering a few chapters at a time. Netflix could be a great potential platform as they have already done a great adaptation of A Series of Unfortunate Events which shows a multi-book series can be successfully done. They also have Lost in Space to show off their sci-fi and special effects capabilities.

Personally I am torn between a live action or animated version. Animation has the benefit of making it easier to handle the child characters since you only have to worry about finding a fitting voice actor. A gritty anime style simlar to Netflix's Castlevania seems like it could have potential. Although live action if cast well would be amazing.

Anyway, these are just some thoughts that have been rolling around in my head since reading the newer books. Looking forward to The Hive in June!

For multiple reasons that most people still here don't really want to talk about, it's extremely unlikely. Your best shot is that it gets recycled and given a shot as a 'found franchise' style revival of an intellectual property ... way off in a few decades. Wayyy off.

i think Anime version might be better, i would probably work better with the time jumps, of decades, and then centuries later.

But i don't really think of anime being shown from so many different points of view and main characters and locations at once like the Formic Wars books are.

or a cartoon, but in the style of Avatar might be fun. Like a sci-fi Last Airbender.

I think that live action has limits for science fiction like these books, but if it was animated that would be really fun and entertaining
