I've hit the 4000 Post mark. Time for another soul searching in depth landmark post.

Wait. I just did the Indian Oddysey thread. I am doing an Adventures in Adoption thread. If I put any more of myself out here, there won't be anything interesting left.

This calls for the Question and Answer Thread.

Ask me any question, and by using the wisdom divinly transfered to the rare 4000 Post people, I will answer them all. I may not answer them correctly, or with wit, or even correct grammar, but I will answer them all, except for the ones I don't answer.

PS Thanks Eslaine, I missed my landmark, but you caught it.

4000 questions is a LOT.

But here's one: Is your username your real name? If so, why did you choose it? If not, why did you choose it?

What happens when you are whipping cream? I mean, why does it get thicker and thicker, is there some gas coming out and if so, what gas?

If you hit a stone with another stone and then you put the stone under your nose and smell, what is this typical scent? You also smell it in the mountains, when the sun is burning on the stones.

Am I allowed to pose more Questions?

How many Questions a Hatracker would you prefer?

Lud: What flavor of Icecream would I invent--a mixture of Dark Choclate icecream and extra salty peanuts, with maybe a hint of fudge sause. I'd call this flavor "Sweet & Salty".

Ryuko: Dan Raven is not my name, though Dan is. My last name is Davis. The big question is, "Why Raven." About five years ago, just as I began exploring this Internet thingy, I started thinking about "Spirit Animals." I read some books involving them, and pondered what mine should be.

Then one month there were several changes in my life. I moved my house, I moved my office, and my father became very ill. During all three of these events, Raves or Crows seemed to be conspicuous by their presence. They covered the trees near my house, and the fields near my new office. One giant crow even stood guard as I went to house sit a friends home, next door to the crack dealer.

My reading led me to see the Raven as "The Finder of Lost Things." My father had a major stroke, to the point that the doctors asked my mother how she wanted to handle the need to disconnect machines if that was an option. I went home that day very worried. I was not afraid that my father would die. I was afraid that the damage done to his mind would leave him forever trapped in his body, unable to find his way back to reallity. A raven flew by me then. I asked Raven if he could help my father find his way back.

I also prayed to more traditonal versions of God.

My father made what the doctors still call, "A miraculous" recovery. He is not perfect, but he is still himself.

On the day I went to see him, that he was able to say my name (he could recognize everyone and everything. Finding the words for it was the difficulty) I thrilled. Then I looked out of the window of his hospital room just as a flock of crows and ravens launched themselves from the ground and flew by.

I decided then that my name on the computer would be Dan_Raven, and there are few others out there so it stuck.

Ginnette: Whipped Cream--Why does it thicken when whipped? Its just Kinky like that.

What is the smell of two bashed rocks? I haven't snorted rocks since second grade, when one got stuck up my nose, but I believe it was a bit finger scented.

May you ask more questions? Yes.
What is the Prefered Q/H? (Question/Hatracker) Take you present # of posts and divide by you Hatrack Number, then add .314/i(4/5 + -i)then throw that all away and stick with 42.

Ralphie: What is love? Love is a many splendid thing. Love is never having to say you are sorry, but saying it anyway. Love is what makes the world go round. Sex just makes it profitable.

Why does it hurt so much? Either you aren't doing it right, or you like the pain.

Do you get the special offer if you order now? You would have, but that offer expired about the time you started reading this.

No. That does not smell good. I would throw it out if I were you.

Fitz. That depends on tongue size and saliva content. Average is 87. With me its 12, but I may be bragging.

AfR: That is the one mystery which, surpisingly, has no bottom to be fathomed.

Z: Everything. Well, between love and sex and a good pepperoni pizza, that covers everything.

Jeff: No. My answer to the $$ question would be hysterical laughter, not just a simple no.

Saxon--Who let the dogs out? The cats. It was a big conspiracy.

Leon--Since its the Unaccompanied Sonata, you have to be alone when you find it. Try e-bay. Or if that's not your key, try G#-Bay.

Evie--because once you've found it, you don't need to look anymore.

Leon--skipped part II. I don't know which is my favorite. I don't do over all favorites. I have favorites for a mood or for a situation. There will be times when Ender is appropriate, or when Alvin or Micah.

Are you sure it isn't "love is a many splendoured thing"?

I know that your wisdom far exceeds my own, although I did just get to 250 and that must mean something, but I'm fairly sure it's the air bubbles going into whipped cream that makes it froth up... but perhaps you knew that...

I'll ask a question I don't know now:

If the answer to "Why" is not "Why not?" What is it? (the answer, I mean, not "it")

Dan,

A murder of crows, literally 30-40 of them, flew out of a tree in the house I closed on last Tuesday. I hope that is a good omen.

Question: boxers or briefs? Fertility experts recommend boxers, but briefs hold me so nicely that I hate to give them up just to boost my sperm count.

The thread is short of 4000 questions because I stole them to form a new site "4000 Questions you never wanted to ask". This includes questions such as "In space, which way is up?" and, to borrow Ralphie's question "If this is love, why does my shoelace keep breaking?". The site will be sponsored by those co-guardians of truth and accuracy, British Intelligence and the BBC.

MSquared-_Because, in a past Mafia life, you did something to deserve it.

Evie: As much wood as a Woodchuck could chuck if a Woodchuck could chuck wood. And to answer the next question, yes fingers typing this get as tied up as tongues saying it.

Humor: Big/Small its all relative. As Saddam would say---I have some big relatives, with big guns, so its all mine.

Things are big in Texas, but bigger in Alaska, which really po's the Texans.

Jeni: It a jealousy thing. You love yourself and are jealous of anyone who you may like more. PS I'd be glad if you wouldn't like me with as much dogged determination and explosive results.

Christy: All means "Everything".

And yes, it makes you look a bit hefty. Take it off right now. Take it all off. Oh Yeah, just like that. Oooh, slower baby....

How many Roads? Will that depends on if you take the Interstate or just stick to the back roads. Taking the interstate through life is faster, but the back roads can be more fun.

Teshi? The answer to Why is never Why Not. Its "Because." Ask any three year old, they'll tell you the same thing.

As far as Splendor/Splendid/Splendour--I firmly believe having only one spelling for each word shows a dangerous lack of imagination.

Finally, take your kinky whip creme expertese elsewhere. Nobody likes a smart alec.

Eslaine, Kingship is usually a job riddled with nepotism. Clinton and Monica showed us the secret to becoming a King. Its not Who you know, it's "Who's you daddy."

Sir Real. First, I find a Horizon I could get close to. Then I would draw it.

Syn: I like Rumi.
And YES. Landmarks are not just big post numbers. Birthdays are a great excuse for a landmark post.

PS. Happy Birthday!!!

Alucard: Boxers or Briefs? I have never known a woman who did not prefer Boxers. The question is, which do you want, to make a woman happy, or yourself.

I suggest going commando, but double checking the zipper first.

Danny: Farthest Traveled, well mentally I did visit outer Dominion held space. In this reallity, I just got back from India.

The best place to travel--Cruise to Alaska or Disney World. Then again, I like to be pampered.

Happy Camper--Chartruese. The car may not actually be that color. I never guaranteed my answers were right. I just love to say Chartruese.

Ryuko--Murder of Crows is a great pluralization. I think it would make an excellent book title as well.

Eslaine: 4000 is a lot of questions. Give them time. Besides, several have been asked mentally, and I've responded to them as such. At least I hope they were your questions. Either that or the voices are back.

Where are the answers? Here.

All righty, get ready! Here are some hard ones:

What is your first memory?
Your favorite?
What is your biggest wish?
Who do you love the most?
What is the moment from your wedding that plays through your head whenever you remember back?
What would you change?
Who are you?
Where are you going?
Why are you here?
Why aren't you here?

Sorry, just helping you along towards 4000. *grin*

Edit: Oh, and [Blushing] Ha!

Polemarch: What happened? In the begining --well-- there is a lot of debate about what happened. Since then, we still aren't too sure.

Christy:

My first memory: This is hard since my family is well known for their story telling. As such I don't know what is my memory and what is the memory of some story that involved a young me. My parents were campers who would spend almost every weekend at some campground or another with a large group of friends. My first memories are campfires and the smell of smoke on a cool morning.

My favorite memory: I don't do favorites. If pressed I'd say sitting on a blanket, looking up at the stars, and telling my girlfriend that they looked so close you could reach up there and pull one down. I then reached up, and pulled "down" a diamond ring. "This is just about good enough for you." I said, as I slipped it on her finger. Then I proposed, and she cried.

Why do women cry when you propose. Don't they realize the men can't tell if that's a yes or a no.

Luckilly for me it was a yes.

Biggest Wish: To live off of my writing.

Love the Most: Is that an offer? My wife, though that may change soon, if our adoption plans succeed.

Favorite Wedding moment: This has to be the most Female question I've been asked. Watching my wife, in her wedding dress, chase her brother around the parking lot.

Change: The caterer served peas. I wanted Green Beans. Actually, I wish Cindy's mother could have been there.

Who am I: Dan, Dan Davis.
Where Am I going: Into the unknown, and I prefer it that way.
Why am I here: Because I am here.
Why am I not there? I've been to Madison. I don't like cheese that much.

Juice: Moon? Its made of Cheese, a heavy Ghuda to be exact. The astronauts returned with fake rocks, so that Kraft--makers of tang and other "Space" food--could corner the Moon Cheese market.

What, you think American Cheese came from any earthly cow?

Early/Late--It all depends on what time zone you are in.

Walking on Carpets Etc... Keep off the drugs. OK.

Dog jumps, runs, when he farts in his sleep. Smart dog. He's probably been hit for farting in his sleep and its a defense mechanism.

Either that are the noise scares him.

Human: Sorry, when I think of you I think of Humor.

Dragon: Languages--Just English, and not the best at that. My wife is trying to learn all the fun languages.

My 5000th post will have me doing a strip tease, or something like introducing my adopted kids I hope.

You just need to know how to bribe parachat. Flattery and flowers.

What makes the world go around? A small Ugandian woman who will turn 112 next Tuesday. They are training a Latvian boy to take her place someday, so don't worry.

Teshi: How do you get my wisdom? Fake it. That's what I do. The less you really talk, the wiser you sound.

Ralphie: You never close your eyes anymore when I kiss your lips.
And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips.
You're trying hard not to show it, (baby).
But baby, baby I know it...

We've lost that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling,
We've lost that lovin' feeling,
Now it's gone...gone...gone...wooooooh.

Baby, baby, I get down on my knees for you.

If you would only love me like you used to do, yeah.

We had a love...a love...a love you don't find everyday.

So don't...don't...don't...don't let it slip away.

Baby (baby), baby (baby),
I beg of you please...please,
I need your love (I need your love), I need your love (I need your love),
So bring it on back (So bring it on back), Bring it on back (so bring it on back).

Bring back that lovin' feeling,
Whoa, that lovin' feeling
Bring back that lovin' feeling,
'Cause it's gone...gone...gone,
and I can't go on,
noooo...

Tongue Tied--Its in his kiss.
Its not in his eyes, no no no.
Its not in his words, they can lie
The truth is in his kiss (or hers depending on preference).

Julie-- Truthfully, I scribbled down your question, then misread your name on my scribble when I went to answer. My juciest apologies.
