The Aeon Award is a long-running and prestigious writing competition for short fiction in the genres of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror (including stories that cross or fall between genres or are otherwise unclassifiable). The contest runs until the end of November 2012 and has Grand Prizes of 1000, 200 and 100 euros for the three winning stories, including guaranteed publication in Albedo One, Ireland's premiere magazine of speculative fiction. The winners will be chosen by Grand Judges, Ian Watson, Mike Resnick, Todd McCaffrey and Michael Carroll. Entries may be up to 10,000 words in length and must be accompanied by a small entry fee (of 7.50 euros), which may be paid securely and easily by PayPal on the contest web page. The contest is open to writers in all counties and of all nationalities.
