I decided to pull the chapter, and save it. I like the ideas in the run away story, they just are not right for the book. If I do a sequel, it could be a more indepth look at an event that could occur. The story is really almost alive on its own. So now, I just need another context to use it. Maybe a good piece for that contest with a little polishing?

For contests, for more in-depth storyline development for your WIP or future works, or for straight publication. Either way, it sounds like a marvelous idea! When you write the short, do please post the first 13 in F&F and let us read for you!
