It's that time of the week again, time for the kick in the pants. The idea is that having somewhere to report progress will spur you on to make some. So I'm posing the question to all of us here. Did you write this week? As we have been reminded in the past, writing for the purposes of this thread can mean just about anything you want. You did some editing? Report it here. Outlining, pre-writing or any other kind of prep work? Sure, that counts too. And, of course, writing new work always counts.

I finished a major crit this past week. I made a bunch of notes on how to deal with revisions on a piece I have beta feedback on. I'm quite confident that I can move forward in the next couple of days with that.

I also made some notes on a few projects, outlined a short story for a blog project and stared writing it. I had an interesting twist turn up on my vampire project that's kind of exciting.

That's it for me. How about you? Did you write?

-Julie

Yes, I wrote. I finished the first draft rewrite of THE SHAMAN'S CURSE and started a read-through for more structural problems. (Like, the main conflict pretty much disappears for a long section when I physically separate the protagonist from the antagonist. Need to figure out some way to bridge that gap.) Also, seriously starting work on the first draft of my "Weird Oz Story".

Also, two blog posts.

Just put a book publishing project's print run into the mail. Illustrated, 180 pages, perfection bound, it's on its way now to the four corners of the world. Two more are in process. One is in final galley proofs and going to the bookmaker this month. The other is at the next phase of layout and design.

Finishing book two. Ran about 20K words this weekend. Finished hewing the thing out with a broad axe, now I'm down to the chisel and wood rasp stage. Hopefully within a week I will have it to the sandpaper stage.

Back in the saddle. I wrote 4,000 new words on a new novel and tacked on twice as much that I had written before.

Finished my run-through of a rewrite and now it's ready for a grammar check.

Repriced a few of my novels up on Amazon and Nook.

No. But I finally heard back from a beta reader who I'd thought had died <g> and she had some useful comments that generated brain churn leading to new explanations, which is where new material generally originates for me.
