Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

  • What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
  • Describe what you worked on.
  • Set goals for next week.
  • Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

  • Writing on a novel
  • Characterization
  • World Building
  • Relevant research

Last Week's Goals

I did not get any scenes written this week unfortunately. However, I did get started on the next subplot, but nowhere near where I wanted. Basically a bad week.

My goals for next week:

  • Write scenes
  • Outlining

Once again I want to get some work done on the outline on the new subplot. At least I do have the main goal in mind for that subplot so that is better then where I was last week.

I may try to write a few scenes. In addition, I may want organize what I have written before and incorporate it into the new outline.

What did I learn this week?

Not much to say here this week. What I need to learn is a better way of accomplishing my goals. That's something I should be working on for this next week.

Last Week's Goals:

DREAMER'S ROSE: Work on chapter exchange revisions as they come.
Yes.

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE: Let it rest before trying to cut some more.
Easy goal. Even better, I may not really need to cut any more. Next time, it may only be rewrites of the lackluster scenes.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY: Continue chapter exchange for this in FPNA (Future Published Novelists Anonymous).
Yes, although I'm slightly behind on the revisions right now.

BLOOD WILL TELL: I'll wait on this one to see what comes out of the Synopsis Challenge. Then, start querying again.
Easy goal, this week.

MAGE STORM: Get back in the flow. Finish chapter 4.
Blew straight past this. I'm starting chapter 7.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Work on the new short story.
Yes and no, respectively.

Next Week's Goals:

DREAMER'S ROSE:
Work on chapter exchange revisions as they come.

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE:
Let it rest. I've got enough new writing and revisions going on right now, anyway. I think I may only need to do rewrites on portions of it.

THE IGNORED PROPHECY:
Continue chapter exchange for this in FPNA (Future Published Novelists Anonymous).

BLOOD WILL TELL:
I'll wait on this one to see what comes out of the Synopsis Challenge. Then, start querying again.

MAGE STORM:
Things are going pretty well with this one, so a steeper goal is in order. Complete chapter 10.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Work on that short story. I need to find a way to make the first person POV feel more alien (not that kind of alien.)

I can't remember what goals I had set for the last two weeks. Let's just say life and a new perspective on my story has slowed me down a bit.

Goals for next week:

Decide how to procede with the new ideas for my story.
