Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group (NSG). Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

What were your goals last week and did you accomplish them?
Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

Writing on a novel
Characterization
World Building
Relevant research

As for me.

Last Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS): Continue promoting.
Eh. Not really this week. [Frown]

BLOOD IS THICKER: Recheck Smashwords format. Formulate a publication plan.
Not really on this one, either. [Frown]

THE BARD'S GIFT: Send out three queries.
Yes. [Smile]

MAGE STORM: Work on the query, pitches, and synopsis. Wait for the last two critiques to come back.
Some. [Smile]

MAGIC AND POWER: Rest.
Easy one. [Smile]

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE: I'm taking another look at this oldie. See what I can do with it.
Well, I'm on Chapter 16. It's interesting for a discovery writer to basically have a 100,000-word outline. [Big Grin]

WEIRD OZ STORY: (That won't really be the title. I just don't have one yet.) Start.
Well, yes. I started. Barely. [Smile]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

FIRE AND EARTH (formerly known as SEVEN STARS):
Continue promoting.

BLOOD IS THICKER:
Recheck Smashwords format. Formulate a publication plan.

THE BARD'S GIFT:
Send out three queries.

MAGE STORM:
Following feedback from the "An Agent's Inbox", revise query. Wait for the last two critiques to come back.

MAGIC AND POWER:
Rest.

THE SHAMAN'S CURSE:
Since this seems to be the sandbox my mind wants to play in right now, let's say . . . through Chapter 26.

WEIRD OZ STORY:
(That won't really be the title. I just don't have one yet.)
Write what flows. Don't force it.

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.

I'm working on a collaborative short story, for the Hatrack Collaboration contest. But, since it is the milieu (or very nearly) of my next novel, I'm 1) Researching and 2) playing with characterization. I'm also patiently waiting on a couple of trusted alpha readers to go through my first draft. I'll be plotting out a simpler novel, hopefully.

Am closing in on the climax.

Would be thrilled except our loved Papillon "Peanut" has disappeared. We're putting up flyers with his furry face on them and offering a small reward.

I don't know how much is truly about him all lost somewhere in the neighborhood and how much is an excuse not to be writing the ending.

Draft 1 of Soul of the Machine finished! Will have 2nd draft by the weekend, ready to give to readers for feedback!
So pumped about this novel!

Goal: finish draft 2. Think of 5 possible titles. Maybe 1 of them won't suck.
