Welcome to this week's Novel Support Group. Anyone can join. If you're new, tell us a bit about who you are and what project you are working on. Feel free to update the NSG Work in Progress thread with your current projects. Although we can report on any number of things, here is a list of suggestions (suggestions welcomed).

Describe what you worked on.
Set goals for next week.
Did you learn something during this week?

Here is a list of things that you can do each week as we work on our novels (suggestions welcomed).

As for me:

Last Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES (THE SHAMAN'S CURSE, THE VOICE OF PROPHECY, BEYOND THE PROPHECY,and WAR OF MAGIC): Finish set up of mailing list and start preparing first newsletter.
Not even close. [Frown]

DUAL MAGICS SERIES: As time permits, go through the x-ray listings for the Dual Magics boxed set and THE BARD'S GIFT.
Nope. [Frown]

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING: Keep on writing.
Yes. Even if not as much as I'd like. [Smile]

Wide Distribution Project (redux): Prepare a schedule and to-do list for removing books from Pronoun (which has announced that it's shutting down), change the back matter again, and republish through Draft2Digital. I can't actually start moving the books until after a couple of promotions have run.
Eh. Started--sort of. [Frown]

OTHER:
Update my blog twice a week.
Yes. [Smile]

Next Week's Goals:

DUAL MAGICS SERIES (THE SHAMAN'S CURSE, THE VOICE OF PROPHECY, BEYOND THE PROPHECY,and WAR OF MAGIC):
Complete at least the next step to set up a mailing list and start preparing first newsletter.

BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING:
Keep on writing.

Delight and creative energy surged this day from realization of the message and moral of the project in contention! Realized it from an investigation of a literary movement's less known conventions. "Kitchen sink Realism," though a past movement and passed, it is ripe for reimagination and reinvention of a Pluralist (post Postmodern) sensibility, as suits my creative mien.

This message and moral feature causes me the most challenge, for one, what to label it, as "message and moral" doesn't suit, nor any other extant term. I can perceive its features, abstract most of all, subtext, extended metaphor, practical irony, yada.

I expect I will not coin a term for it, as someone else will get the honors from analysis of my works, now that I scratch at the shapes of it. This is apparent to me now, due to how less difficult realization of one for this project was compared to how great the challenge has been for other works. Not the end of the journey, though, only a restart on the mainline track. Write on, Garth!
