You may have heard the new Pixar movie, Monsters University is out. I usually go and see them when they're playing, since I enjoyed WALL-E so much and enjoyed the DVDs of most of their other movies.

But in this case, I haven't seen the movie Monsters, Inc., which, I gather, this is a prequel to. (I haven't seen A Bug's Life, either, but I've seen every other Pixar movie---loved Cars and Ratatouille.)

The question is: should I see Monsters, Inc. beforehand? (I've got it on Blu-Ray but haven't yet opened the shrink wrap.) Is the new movie intelligible without seeing the old one? Would it be better not to see it? Any general comments on the movies, too, like was it any good or did it stink?

Not sure if you have to see Monsters Inc. first, but only of my friends claims that it's awesome.

I haven't seen Monsters University yet, so I don't know if you need to see Monsters, Inc first, but Monsters, Inc was such an awesome movie that you should see it. It was one of Pixar's best IMO.

Like I said, I've got it...but time seems at such a premium these days, what with all the problems I've been having and continue to have, and getting this new literary effort off the ground and all. It'll be awhile before I get to the movies, possibly next week if I'm off for the holiday and have some spare free time.

Also I wanted to see Despicable Me 2---I did see and did thoroughly enjoy the first one.
