Since I was little, I've always wanted to write a book or story. I started several, but the only ones I ever finished were the ones I was made to finish for school. (I have ADD, by the way.):) So when a friend of mine began posting on Facebook about her debut novel coming out this September, I'll admit, I was a little jealous even as I thought, "I could never do that." But this friend had a contest on her blog that involved writing a very short paragraph of a story. I wrote four entries, and that reawakened my writing dream. So now I've taken the best one of the four entries, and I'm trying to make it into a full-fledged story. The process of writing it could almost be a story itself - will I finish this one? Will it be good? We'll just have to find out!

Hey, C@R3Y. As you probably know, ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. ADD is the same thing, minus the Hyperactivity. With me, I have a hard time concentrating. I don't do too well at remembering things, but it helps to write them down. I chase a lot of "rabbit trails". :)I'm not really hyperactive, but sometimes it's difficult for me to sit in one place for too long. I used to get in trouble when I was little for daydreaming so much. I've always had trouble finishing homework on time. I was diagnosed by a pediatrician when I was a sophomore in college; now I take medicine to help me with my ADD symptoms. Let me know if that helps answer your question or if you want to know more!

Martin: Everybody has ADD tendencies, but not everyone has the full-fledged disorder. Everyone might have times when they're not concentrating, but those of us with AD/HD have those times consistently. We have a harder time paying attention than most people. Let me know if you have any more questions.

And Tim is right. ADD can become just another speed bump. I know of some singer-songwriters who have ADD so there most probably are writers who have it too.
And we all have our own speed bumps. So we understand such things, and there are those here who can teach what they know about writing.
Do be careful of all the different things in the treehouse though. If you see a unicorn, she can be mean.

Well, I've heard someone else refer to Hatrack as "the treehouse", but I'm not familiar with a mean unicorn joke.

There's a link somewhere around here to a thread on the treehouse. The two people who usually leave it must be on vacation or busy.
But the unicorn thing isn't really a joke. It's just a comment that's a tad humorous. Of course if you want you can figure out what the unicorn is to you.
I think I finally figured out who she is to me and why she is mean.
