So . . . my name is Heather. I'm working on my sixth novel right now. The previous five were just practice--they're not published and probably never will be. But I'm getting there, if somewhat slowly.

I've written science fiction, fantasy, young adult, and superhero-related stuff. I also blog (heathermoments.com/words).

I'm a stay-at-home mom of one daughter and a son on the way. I live in a small, spread out town, and so I needed somewhere online to come to talk about writing.

Hi Heather! We have similar writing interests, though I can't say I've finished five novels, published or not.

Howdy there partner, Nice to meet ya,


As has already been stated this is a right friendly place to learn the craft of writing.

But what say you? What genre is that sixth book?

We all are still practicing, as you probably know already, the learning never stops. And you can learn a thing or three here.


But do be careful hereabouts. There's this sometimes unicorn that wonders the halls and dales of the Treehouse, she can be a might testy filly at times.

I just read some of your blog. You make some really thoughtful points. I am intrigued by the one about inviting God into your writing. I'd love to talk further some time about that (though religion isn't a topic discussed on this forum).

Anyway, I'd recommend you to come over to the challenges for some writing fun - genevive42 is running one now.

Oh, I didn't check out your blog before, but I did when I read what Brendan wrote. I want to invite God into my writing as well, and I'd love to talk more about that, too.
